Florence Theatre: Saturday, November 20 at the Teatro Comunale Corsini "Agamemnon"
The story is known. Agamemnon, king of Argos, his departure for the Trojan War, by failing to favorable winds, sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia to appease the gods. His wife, Clytemnestra, to avenge his return from the war, Agamemnon kills Aegisthus with the help of, cousin of her husband and her lover. The choice of this tragedy becomes an opportunity ancestral to restore its strength to the tragedy, proposing actions and feelings to shape a clear and "primitive", a painting of an era in which the characters move is not psychologically realistic in the modern sense of the word, but one-dimensional characters that have , stretched to extremes, one side of their personality, passions, however, by location so absolute and total as to be indelibly carved
Great talking statues each enclosed in its impenetrable world: inflexible characters that clash and never bend over and face their fate up to the extreme. Talk like love, war, guilt, which extends from one generation to another like a contagion, for revenge, death record these terms to their original value and deep, their explosive power.
